Bundle of Love- InKing Royalty Blog Hop

Welcome to InKing Royalty's April Blog Hop! This year's hops are themed around some of our favorite songs. Today's hop pulls inspiration from B.B. King's song "Let the Good Times Roll." How fun is that?! We've created projects that either feature images with wheels (cars, wagons, bikes) or celebrate good times. We are excited to share our projects with you. After you read my post, I hope you'll hop over to the next person on the list at the base of this post.

Today I'm sharing a card I made featuring the beautiful Bundle of Love Specialty DSP. I don't know about the rest of you, but I have a tendency to hoard all my beautiful paper - I'm pretty sure I'm far from alone :) This DSP is a beautiful collection of Very Vanilla with pink, blue and shiny gold. It's perfect for elegant cards and gifts, or fancy prams...which is what I made for you today.

The pram is made using the largest circle in the Layering Circles Framelits, cut in half. I cut a piece of the vanilla/gold paper into a strip measuring 1.5" x 6", which I then scored every quarter inch and folded accordion-style to make the canopy. The wheels are made using the smallest circle from the framelits, the half inch punch, and pearl basic jewels.
Sneak Peek! You may not recognize the greeting stamped on the front...it's from a brand new stamp set from the upcoming Annual Catalog! It's called Animal Outing, and it's one of my favorites so far. It's got the cutest collection of adorable animals, which may cause you to overlook the sentiments, but look close, because they're pretty adorable as well. I added a small heart in Versamark ink, and I picked that out from another new set called Pick a Pennant. I love when I find that perfect little something I can use for a project :)

Thank you for stopping by today.  I hope you'll hop along to the next stop on the blog hop,

Pick a Pennant for Pals Blog Hop

Welcome to the Pals April  2018 Blog Hop. Join us while we put “Families First” in our hop this month. The Stampin’ Pretty Pals will inspire you with family related projects like Mother’s Day, Father’s Day, Graduation or Family Vacations. You may be just starting or hopped over from another Pal. In either case you’ll find the line-up toward the end of my post to help you move along.

Hey everyone!
I'm so excited to share my "Families First" project with you today! It's something I've been thinking about trying for a little while now, but today I had the perfect reason to give it a try.
Today's project:
You've probably seen these unicorn faces around, they're on all sorts of things these days. My daughter loves unicorns and has several unicorn-bedecked items that she treasures. I decided to make this today to celebrate her being named a " Terrific Kid " at school this morning.
She loves to watch me work in my craft room, and help out whenever she can. I know she is really going to love that I made something special just for her.
Not only did I want to make a unicorn, I wanted to use one of my brand new stamp sets I received at OnStage in Atlanta this past weekend. Not only did I get to meet and hang out with some really awesome and talented people, I got to see some of our upcoming new products in action. One of my favorites was a set that everyone there received called "Pick A Pennant", I knew I would find lots of ways to use it and I couldn't wait to get started!
For this piece, I stamped the triangle pennants in Powder Pink and Wisteria Wonder directly on my Shimmery White cardstock. I then stamped two more in Powder Pink and Melon Mambo on scrap paper that I fussy cut and attached with mini dimensionals.
I made several flowers the using the Beautiful Bouquet Bundle in Powder Pink, Melon Mambo, Calypso Coral and Blackberry Bliss. I cut the leaves in Lemon Lime Twist, which is definitely a favorite. It's so bright and cheery, and looks great with the pinks and especially with the Blackberry Bliss. I drew the eyes with my Stampin' Write marker, and gave her cheeks a rosy glow with my sponge dauber and a little Powder Pink.

Special Features: I really wanted the unicorn horn to look more dimensional, so I cut a triangle piece of Gold Shimmer paper and took my paper snips and rounded the top, then cut little pieces out of the sides to give the horn a more twisted, 3D look. Her ears are made using the long, narrow leaf from the Leaflets Thinlits dies. I cut two out of Shimmery White CS then trimmed the tops off, using the Pink Pirouette Stampin' Blends to color the inside. I then used my bone folder to curl the edges for more dimension.

Thank you so much for hopping with the Stampin’ Pretty Pals today. Please take a minute to mark your calendar for our next hop on Wednesday, May 9, 2018 when we all “Step It Up with Textures or Techniques”. Now hop along using the Blog Hop Line-up below.
